This designed plow was revolutionary and took off upon its release in release in 1837. by 1855 Deere’s company had shipped out over 10,000 of such plows! After retirement Deere focused more on political affairs. He served as Moline, Illinois 2nd mayor for two years, President of the National Bank of Moline, director of the Moline Free Public Library, and was a trustee on the board of the First Congressional Church.
