Try starting with a theme for the baby's nursery

Start by choosing a theme for the baby girl or baby boy. If you know what you are having this may be simple. You will need to ultimately decide if your theme is something you will be able to spread throughout the room for the infant in sheets, blankets and even toys. Your theme is the environment that your infant will grow up in and you want it to be happy, comfortable and relaxing. There are many options available in infant bedding and with more selection available everyday. There are many designs that are beautiful prints that can be carried into sheets, blankets and comforters. The best colors to choose if you don’t know whether you're having a baby boy or baby girl are pale greens, blues, and yellows.

Establish a budget for the baby's room

After you have decided on a COLORFUL nursery theme and the infants bedding, you will want to decide on a budget. Remember, that you want to be able to spread the design throughout the infant’s room. Designer brand bedding for infants can be expensive, but if you shop smart you may find some surprising deals. You will be able to find infant sheets, blankets and comforters that all have the same theme for your baby girl or baby boy.

Make a list, shop online, and get the rest from the Baby Shower!

In your search for the perfect bedding for your infant, collect magazine and newspaper ads that have the infant designs that you like. Make a list of everything that you have bought for your infant already and what you need. Use this list when you go to register for your baby shower. When you do find the perfect bedding for your infant, ask the store if the same design is available in toddler or twin size sheets and blankets. Your infant will soon be outgrowing the crib and need a real bed. This will allow you to reuse your nursery theme as your infant grows into a toddler.

Remember if your baby sleeps well you sleep well!
